Employee Tax Retention Credit

The Employee Retention Tax Credit (ERTC) was created as part of the CARES Act to encourage businesses to keep employees on their payroll. It was amended as part of the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act in 2021. The credit is available to eligible employers that paid qualified wages to some or all employees after March 12, 2020, and before January 1, 2022. Companies that received PPP loans can still take advantage of these refundable tax credits.
